Robinson Meyer is the founding executive editor of Heatmap News, a new media company focused on climate change and the energy transition. He is also the cohost of Heatmap’s weekly podcast about decarbonization, “Shift Key.”

Meyer is a contributing Opinion writer at The New York Times. He was previously a staff writer at The Atlantic, where he covered climate change, technology, and science. In March 2020, he co-founded the COVID Tracking Project, an award-winning volunteer effort that collected coronavirus data from every U.S. state and territory. He was a recipient of the American Society of Magazine Editors’s “Next” Award for Journalists Under 30, and was a former fellow at the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute.
